Portland Stash

I have got to admit that I loved the FarmHouse Knit Shop. I would have been perfectly content to sit in the sitting room, surrounded by friends new and old and knit, punctuating with little breaks of meandering around, petting yarn, gasping at the incredible colourways of Tina from Blue Moon Fiber Arts.

I got everything from the FarmHouse except the pile of laceweight shetland that I picked up at Woodland Woolworks. Oh, and ignore the chenille washcloth. Those things have a habit of popping up like pleasant weeds.

After that the pictures got a bit sketchy due to an unfortunate incident at a small gallery. Because of that moment of stupidity, my favourite picture from the trip will not be posted. Believe me, in my delight to photograph a scrap metal sheep with the cutest little knit stocking hat upon his rusted head, it did not even dawn upon me to ask the gallery owner if it would be okay to take the darling thing's picture. I seriously doubt that the sheep would have minded, but the owner definitely did. Kind of put a damper on the rest of my weekend.

Sunday morning dawned bright and beautiful. The wonder of the place that we were staying was that it was so easy to walk where we needed to go. So we trekked over to this little cafe to have breakfast. Jessica, Molly, and Jill went over first to secure us a spot, and after Cass, Janet and I arrived, Janet wasted no time at all sitting down to snare a few more moments of knitting time.

After all of that fibery goodness from the weekend, it is hard to imagine the weekend getting much better. After two days of togetherness, the 6 of us finally got to the point where we could leave approximately on time and we were able to head up towards Seattle in time to get Molly to the airport. We also managed to get through the whole weekend and still be talking to each other.

When we got home Midgeling and her family were at my house, the two guys finishing the install of a second hard drive on our computer. And I had the final package from my sp4 v2.0. Just look at these wonderful stitchmarkers!

My secret pal was Amy and she makes the most incredible stitch markers. I can't begin to thank her enough for her generosity.

You were five blocks from my home. Farmhouse has great wonderful things in it. Things that you can't always find at other shops. Woodland woolworks I visited for the first time on Thur, I bought my wheel there. They have fun stuff as well.

Martha looks wonderful on.

That's funny that we switched our cities. It would be fun to have an RAOK gal gathering down here sometime or up there:) I haven't been to Farm House yet. Your pics are making me drool. I'll have to take a field trip. I'm glad you had a good trip down here!
