Seaming

The major pieces of Martha are done and I have embarked upon seaming. Some day I will be smart and seam as I go. Of course I keep telling myself that and have yet to actually do it. Then I think of all the years that it took me to try mattress stitching the seams rather than backstitching them. I may yet make that leap one of these days, but don't hold your breath. These changes take time.

But for now I shall be content to know that instead of just shoving the pieces in a basket and sewing them together at some way future date, that I actually started in on the seaming tonight. So far I have one side seam and both shoulder seams stitched. Not bad at all.

Tomorrow a few of my knitting buddies and I am are headed south to Portland, Oregon to have a weekend away from family responsiblities. I am so ready for this! The only thing that is keeping me somewhat grounded and responsible about going in to work tomorrow is the fact that I have a new computer at work. Mine died about noon today. Hopefully when I log in tomorrow morning it won't take 10 minutes booting up. Darn technology anyway.

I was reading some blogs evening and making some comments. Then I realized that there have been several comments that I have left the wrong address for my blog. Boy do I feel like a dork.

I am off to go find a new project to take with me on the trip. Especially since I don't have to drive! That means I get to knit to my heart's content.

Great work on Martha--that is a beautiful pattern. I wish you luck with the seaming--that is the worst part of the project to me!

Have a great time in Portland! I love that city! I was there 2 years ago, and I would have just stayed instead of coming back to Maryland :)

Have fun in P-town. Martha looks great, the yarn I picked did not swatch to gauge. Must go to back up plan. B. Get more yarn.

The bobbin above looks wonderful. Smashing colors.
