Lazy days of Summer

My lazy days of summer seem to be anything but lazy. Saturday the mattress did finally arrive, albiet several hours after promised. But by the time we got home from the bonfire at the beach I was very tired, drenched in wood smoke and definitely not in the mood to make the bed and shower.

Sunday was spent shovelling out what is now Shannon's room after we moved Fiona downstairs into the basement and into her own room. After repeated renderings of the mantra "NO SUNFLOWER SEEDS IN THE BEDROOM", the floor was littered with them. As were all the other surfaces in the room. Needless to say, by the end of the day our trash bin was filled to capacity and the one nerve that I had left was frazzelled. Almost to the point of non-repair. Thank goodness for new anti-depression drugs.

Yesterday Shannon and I embarked on the adventure to take her to gymnastic's camp. In the process of tearing the rest of the house apart to locate my keys that I had tossed the wrong direction, I did uncover one of the missing cameras in the house and as a result the following picture:

I had tried to just get the inchworm and failed, but I think that I like the resulting picture better. That's us this summer. Just inching along, trying to get things done. I promise that my next post will involve knitting. The knitting that has been taking place behind the scenes around here keeps getting misplaced or ripped out. Now that I am on vacation, maybe I can make some sort of progress.
