Zoe
Zoe passed away yesterday. She was almost 15 years old. I knew that something wasn't quite right, but didn't start thinking that I needed to get her to the vet until just this week. I don't think that it would have made any difference.
When poor Fiona found her yesterday, she was having a major seizure. Brave girl sat with her until the end and when I got home she had moved her to the kitty bed, looking every bit like she would wake up any moment. The girls have already decided that she shall be buried with a few kitty toys, catnip and the felted kitty blanket I made.
Zoe was a remarkable feline. Noisy, talkative, great lap warmer and she would come when you whistled. She loved to go for walks with us and the dogs, trailing behind and meowing, then catching up with a little meowy type chirp. She'd sit at the window talking to the birds too, which never failed to crack me up.
Damn it, they are here such a short while and make such an impact.
It is way too quiet in the house. I miss her terribly.

I'm so sorry. It's nice that your girl was with her. It is true that they are more than just pets. They become part of our everyday lives.

I am so sorry. It is such a hard thing to lose a beloved pet. We have a veritable pet graveyard out back under a cedar tree. Everything from our beloved cats, dogs to a mouse and a canary.
We never stop missing them.
Take care all of you.

Wow, 15 is a good long life for a moggie though... it delights me she was a 'chirper'... did she also 'trill'? Chirpers usually trill :^)
"Damn it, they are here such a short while and make such an impact."
Exactly.

Oh Sweetie! It's so hard to say goodbye to those little furry beasts but you did have 15 great years and for that you are blessed.
My thoughts are with you.

This last year or so I have watched my firend's kittens grow up and I have come to love them . I had never really know cats before, only dogs. Cats are different!! But they are as much a part of the family. We are thinking of you.
