Shades of Green

I am attempting to jump start spring this year, by finding the softest shades of green to knit with. I hadn't planned it this way, but I currently have two sock projects on the needles, both in green and both will be lovely for totally different reasons.

I am test knitting a pattern for Jae, the yarn is Louet Gems and the colour is Willow.

I didn't get as far last weekend as I would have liked because there was an error in row 17 of the chart. But that is exactly why there are test knitters. Because of lack of internet, I am a bit behind on my schedule, but I am happy to say that Chart A is now done and I don't think that there are any more errors in it. Now on to Chart B and the short row heel.

For regular sock knitting, I am using a mystery yarn. I am pretty sure that the yarn came from the Woolgirl sock club, but beyond that I haven't a clue. It is an amazing blend of all the greens that remind me of spring though and heavenly to knit with. I am using the Nutkin from Knitzi. I am toying with the idea of slanting the pattern the opposite direction for the second sock, but any translation will have to wait until I get my current test knitting gigs done.

Fiona came home yesterday to let the dogs out of the crates yesterday and discovered that the basement light had burned out. While her steps in trouble shooting were a bit unique, she did ultimately come up with a solution and remedied the situation. However, her problem solving steps included flipping all the breakers in the breaker box which resulted in me having to reset the alarm. Unfortunately I set the alarm for pm instead of am, so today I am feeling a bit confuddled as to what time it actually is.

Coffee. I need more coffee.

Coffeee....mmmm...

Those greens are lovely! Reminds me that Spring is right around the corner!

Aren't many greens so hopeful? They do portend freshness, growing and hope.
These will be great!

Ooh! I bet that yarn will look great on Nutkin. And what is time? "One of the most peculiar qualities of time is the fact that it is measured by motion and it also becomes evident through motion." Therefore, if I stay in bed all day and never move, time does not pass and I do not age. Deadlines are not missed and the dishes do not pile up in the sink (or bathtub, in my case). Right? I am pretty sure that is how it goes.

you can never have too much green yarn, I say. :)

very nice color yarns! Thanks for stopping by my blog, and thanks for the congrats.
