Monday Morning Meanderings
The things that come out of my children's mouth sometimes render me to the point of gut wrenching laughter. This weekend it came time to do homework, and Shannon opted to work on it while we drove out to Costco for a shopping trip. The assignment was to read an article about Thomas Edison and then to answer a few questions. Not something that was terribly tough, but difficult for a child who hates to sit still for any length of time.
So she read the article out loud on the way to the store, and on the way home she was working on the questions. She read the questions out loud and was attempting to answer them. The first one was about what Edison was credited for doing.
Me: So what did Thomas Edison work on?
Shannon: I don't know. Thomas Edison is stupid.
Me: What? That doesn't sound quite right, why was Thomas Edison stupid?
Shannon: Thomas Edison is stupid because he is making me do homework.
Sigh. At least she was honest about how she felt about it.

Well at least her anger is directed at the right person. Darn you Thomas Edison!
