Meet the new kid
Our family has a minimum quota for animals. Seems that we usually have two dogs and two cats in residence. With Zoe gone the house just didn't seem right. So we went off to the local animal shelter and came home with this handsome fella.

Meet Squirt. He is about 8 years old and was rescued from a crack house when it was raided. He is fairly mellow, but hasn't gotten too comfy with the rest of the crew. I am not too worried. It took Keely six months to emerge from the basement, so I am sure that he will eventually come out from under the bed.
I actually finished a pair of socks yesterday. These are a modification of the Dublin Bay Socks by the ever lovely Ryan. The yarn is Noro sock yarn.

This is also my first attempt at an afterthought heel. I really prefer the traditional heel with a gusset, it fits my foot better, but I wasn't at all liking the colour progression. So for this particular sock I tried the afterthought heel and I love the way that it looks.
I have now done two pairs of socks out of the Noro sock yarn. I love the colouring, but I think that I am quite done with that particular yarn.

He's beautiful! And is it just the picture or does he have one blue and one green eye? I've always wanted a cat with two different colored eyes!

Thanks for the Noro yarn "review". I was thinking of trying it once, but so far everbody seems to like the colors only. I think I'll pass on this one. Welcome to your new room mate! :o)

Hi Squirt! Sounds like he landed in just the right home after the nightmare he was raised in.
You're right, when the numbers are off the home is off balance.

I love that Squirt has a green eye and a blue eye, he's a looker alright :)
I *just* snagged some Noro sock yarn this weekend. Can't wait to play with that. Your socks are fab, it looks great in that pattern.

Welcome, Squirt! What lovely eyes you have... :^)
Those socks are sooo pretty... does the Noro soften after a proper bathing?

I am very sorry to hear about Zoe. It's very sad to have to let a pet go. Squirt looks like he'll fit right in!
