Monday Morning Meanderings
It is the day before Christmas, and I have to work. My house is a wreck and my schedule is shot. Its time to take a deep breath, take a sip of coffee (sorry Joanne, I don't drink tea, although upon occasion I try) and reflect on what is truly important. Presents after all, can be given late. It just extends the holiday season right?

i found this critter at anthropologie!
Despite the best efforts of my jumbled yarn stash in the corner of the living room, I did get the errant yarn corralled, contained and removed from the area to put the Christmas tree up. By my calculations of that corner alone, I shouldn't be buying yarn for several years at least. The stockings have been hung on the entertainment center, and the kidlets have been placing little things in there already. I am greatful that I have a roof over my head and that we didn't start the re-model this winter. Next summer I may be wondering why we even thought it was a good idea. But for now, a roof over our heads is good.
I am lucky to have a family that loves me. Even though there is distance of time and space, when we come together for the holidays it is a truly magical thing. Considering the various schedules and activities that need to coincide for a break so that we can get together, that alone is magic.
I am fortunate to have my health at the moment, some of the best friends ever and the ability and circumstance to be a writer and artist in my own style.
I am thankful for my own little corner of blogdom, wonderful readers who support my meanderings. You feed my inner muse a great deal.
In this season of giving, it is the simple gifts that are most important to me. Those intangibles that can not be wrapped in a box with sparkly paper and a pretty bow. The gifts of frienship, love, caring and community. It doesn't get any better than that.

Tea is just a metaphor!! You know it! That sheep is pretty cool, and I'm glad to hear you're feeling good about all the wonderful stuff you do have this time of year.

Yup, we do have a lot to be thankful for. And I am glad that for at least one more year, we are allowed to celebrate Christmas still, and it hasn't become another victim of PC, lol. I hope you have a great Christmas. We miss you guys.

Enjoy your holiday and all you hold important. After almost a decade of retail management where I got about 30 hours off between two periods of insanity followed by several years in healthcare where I worked most Christmases, I really appreciate the time I now have with my extended family and all of those who work the hours to keep everything going around the holidays.
