Monday Morning Meanderings

Now it is December and the holidays are creeping up on me faster than ever. I find myself wanting to slow the pace down, to fit in time to reflect upon the holidays past and the holidays for this year. More than ever, I want to move away from the materialisticness (I don't think that that is a real word, I just sort of made it up) of life and to do something to make a difference for someone other than myself.
I won't be going out of town for Christmas this year, with the holiday being on Tuesday, it makes it rather hard to escape. Dennis and I have talked for years how it would be nice to volunteer somewhere for that particular day and we are looking into options for this year. The girls are old enough to be a help and are self directed enough that it is possible. So we shall see where that path may lead.

We should all seek ways to give of ourselves. Good for you and your family for acting on your intentions.

LOVE the photo. Your creativity has just been flowing lately. Mine has just been sputtering, lol. Volunteering sounds like a nice way for the family to spend some time. Don't know what we are doing yet. Talk of heading to OR has been bandied about, but I have no clue. I don't evenwant to think about it yet.

My husband and I have also been discussing the materialism that seems to have creeped into the holiday. This year when pushed to provide a list for christmas gifts we stated that we wanted the money to be used on those those with greater need than us. So far it has been met with a positive response from our family and friends.

This is an amazing picture Mom. It is one of the best ones that you have ever taken in my opinion.
Keep it up!
