Earl Grey in Greens

Out of shear curiosity I bought a skein of the new Noro sock yarn. I love how the colours change and I didn't want tp distract from that, but I was finding that just a plain stockinette was not quite doing it for me.

So enter Stephanie's Earl Grey pattern. I tweaked it a bit to fit my foot, but I think that I am going to like the end result.

The thing that I am not liking? The Noro isn't a plyed yarn, it is just single. So it has a tendancy to bias. To counteract that I am wrapping my yarn the opposite way over the needle. It is driving me nuts. The yarn as is feels a bit rough. I am told that it softens up with washing. I hope so.

Those sure are pretty colours... it seems to me that I might have run across the new Noro sock yarn... but Ms.K was telling me about it also... whatever it was I saw didn't come home with me...
I hope it softens up for you, after a proper bath :^)

well, it's a pretty play of colors anyway and you're making a neat job of it! :)

INTERESTING! Jae sent me some that I got yesterday - I couldn't help but cast on to see what it knit up like - but spent a lot of time untangling it.

But I do love the colours too.

I got some too. I'm planning on using it for the Annetrelac socks in the Holiday Interweave.

Ooooh, pretty. I didn't know the Noro Sock was single ply. I suppose it makes sense since most of his yarn is, but I never thought of that. You have HK confused again. She though Earl Grey was tea, lol.

I picked up some of the new yarn as well. I've thus far resisted casting on, so it's good to know that it may bias.

I do love the Noro colors, but everytime I pick up a skein, it just feels so itchy. Or rough. Or something. Let us know if it does indeed soften up.
