Monday Morning Meanderings
There is a difference between colors that I enjoy and colors that I wear. For instance, I wouldn't be caught dead in the following combination:

But the colors just grabbed me at the LYS the other day and begged me to snap a picture. I am not sure exactly what it was, if it was the geometric design in the cone of yarn, or the way that the colors played against each other. At any rate, I was captivated.
It is one of the wonders of playing with fiber. I am continually exposed to things beyond my comprehension, yet it doesn't bother me in the least. I can enjoy the things that others create and yet get caught up in my own creativity zone faster than a blink of the eye. The problem does occassionally emerge where I feel like a kid caught up in the candy store, overwhelmed by the sensation of many things coming at me at the same time. I can't seem to be able to say that enough is enough, be content with what I am currently doing and put off the instant gratification of the moment.
All I can say is that now I am in the process of making elephants for nieces and nephews for Christmas. What was I thinking?

I LOVE your photography lately. Really gorgeous images that make my eye linger. I agree about enjoying yarn colors that I would never knit myself. It's been something I've had to think over as a designer--knitting things I'd never wear, etc. On the other hand, sometimes folks send me stuff I wouldn't have bought on my own, but would love to knit!! Such a pleasure in the end...
