Kimono Musings
Some thoughts on the kimono sweater. The pattern is in the Summer 2005 Interweave Knits. I used 3.25mm addy turbo needles and a bit less than two skeins of Koigu sock yarn for the sweater.
I waffled back and forth for awhile on the buttons. In the end I decided that I would just sew them on as securely as possible, since little ones invariably put them in their mouths. But then if I had used ribbon that would have been in the mouth too. I like the buttons though.
I took Fiona over to the mall for a Build A Bear birthday party today. Since Shannon and I were just kind of hanging around for the afternoon, I treated her to a build a bear experience, as well as making myself one. As you can see from the above picture, I think that my new bear needs a kimono sweater too.

Hi Marti, Did you see what Ailsa did to the Baby Kimono? She crochered a ruffle round it. It looked great!! Yours looks great too. I'm re-inspired to make one. How long and wide did the teddy one end up and what alteration to the pattern did you do? I love teddy clothes!! :-) Sharon PS I'm always amazed at how much you manage to knit! http://pick-up-sticks.blogspot.com/2005/08/message-to-my-secret-pal-of-generosity.html#comments
