Do you ever...?

Do you ever feel like running away and hiding because people may be getting too close to you? They may be getting to know you too well. They may see too far into your soul. They are within striking distance and that makes you uneasy.
Do you wonder if the uneasiness is your fear of allowing people to get to know you too well? Maybe it is really your inner instinct or angel of some sort warning you that it isn't all as it seems and to beware?
Do you think maybe I am a puppy that has been kicked too many times? Or is there something to this general feeling of wariness?

As to your questions...
sometimes the running and hiding (on my part) is simply being overwhelmed, I have a hard enough time with 'time' and how it can seem to get away from me, or there doesn't seem to be 'enough' in any given day and let's face it, there are certain responsibilities in getting close to folks and said responsibilities take time.
Fear of folks getting to know me 'too well'... sure. I have my 'flaws', that 'time management' seems to be a big one and can easily be misunderstood..... but I figure if folks choose to hang in there and don't push it... there's a reason.
which leads us to... that inner instinct/angel deep in our soul that can guide us to our 'pack members' eh? or guide us away from the souls we should have nothing to do with.
I have been around certain people that felt like poison or there are the ones that upon meeting them and even spending a decent amount of time with that I couldn't focus on their faces... I kid you not... it would just look blurry and I'd feel an energy drain just being in their company... and you bet, I run... away... very fast.
Are you a puppy that's been kicked too many times? Even 'if'... I've always found those pups willing to give it another 'go'.... not necessarily with the 'kicker' but... you know?
I do think there's something to be said for that general feeling of wariness.
