Best Son Ever

My son loves me. You know how I know? He came to me with this Lego Prototype of a spinning wheel he is designing for me. You know, I think it would be awesome if someone out there designed a Lego kit for an actual, working model spinning wheel.
Chace wanted me to post a phot of his model to see what my spinning friends thought of it. I think he may be on to something. This is pretty cool.

That's awesome! It's even got a drive band. :)

That is really cool! And it gives me some ideas of how to build a skeinwinder, hmm... tell your son thanks for me!

Awesome Lego Wheel Chace! I love Legos - you can make anything with them.

Great wheel! I think you might be able to work it as a spindle wheel if you could attach your leader to the spindle. :) Check this out for inspiration: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MV19wqtfyF0 (it's a knitting machine, but still pretty cool!)

Great job Chace! That design could totally work.
Will it be a portable? :)

That has got to be one of the sweetest things ever. And so cool! If it were me, I'd have to put it in a class case and put it on a shelf, forever :)

This is fantastic! I'm going to have to keep an eye out for him. If he's starting this young, he'll be the next great thing in wheel design!

That is awesome.!

How seriously cool is that?! and of course your son loves you, and yeah, I think he's onto to something great.
Although I have 3 spindles and an Ashford tradi, I don't know how to spin.... yet, but apparently I'm ready.

This is a _wonderful_ prototype. I wonder if your son would find any inspiration in this video of a Lego knitting machine: http://youtube.com/watch?v=MV19wqtfyF0

I like the way your son's brain works--that's very creative and, by the looks of it, not just cool looking, but nearly functional.
Lucky you, to have such a creative and interesting child. He must have a great mom!

(whispering) Pssst - hey, Chace... go look at this:

Tell your Dad that this is what you want for Christmas, so you can build your Mom an electric spinning wheel. They can't say no!!
Way to go, kiddo. I bet you're gonna go to engineering school some day!

What a cute spinning wheel! I love that he was thinking of you enough to make a Lego wheel - and to do such a good job with it.
If I remember right there is a replica lego wheel though I don't think it actually works. I know someone has made a charka type beast from erector sets.

This is great! I just love how kids can use their imagination and be creative. But the idea to make a spinning wheel is beyond awesome!!! Well done!

How awesome! And may I say how clever to use the little pulleys spaced far apart at the bottom, to simulate a larger wheel?

Total genius!!!
