Babies!

Everyone is having babies. Gene and Jason - a couple of Nathan's friends from work are expecting. Not with each other - they and their wives. My BIL just added his 5th child (Elizabeth Anne) to his family. I think of her as "Baby Buff" because their cousin Buffy's real name is Beth Anne. Buffy is also pregnant, due in October. I just finished with a round baby blanket for her. I just have to weave in ends and wash the Gatorade out of it before blocking.

I started it during Harley's Tae Kwon Do team practice on April 5. I cast off the final stitches on Saturday afternoon. I did most of it on the trip we took to Porkland, OR for the Tae Kwon Do Regional Qualifiers (that explains the Gatorade spills). Harley won Bronze for Poomse and Silver for Sparring. So she qualified for the National Elite Division for the Junior Olympics in Atlanta this July. WOOT!

Oh, since Buffy's baby is sort of a big deal for me (Anne's first grandchild) I am sort of on a roll and inspired to do more serious knitting. I also started a Tomten Jacket (E. Zimmermann) in a Ruby color superwash wool. It looks a little pinkish for a boy, but I think the the charcoal I chose for the contrast color ought to tone it down and make it all look neutral enough. They live in the mountains in Colorado, so wool ought to keep the little critter nice and warm.

I'll post more as I progress. :-)

LOVE the edging on the blanket - did you do a picot kind of thing before the garter stitch? Excellent. Looks great.
