The Sweater.

I started my sister's birthday sweater again on Saturday night. Again. For the 3rd time.

The first two were my own designs, based on what she requested. Stockinette boatneck in a cream colored cotton. Simple. Endless amounts of plain knitting. First I was going to do it in pieces and sew together. Then I decided that would make me nuts, so I would knit it in the round up to the armholes, etc.

This weekend I came to my senses. I am making someone else's design that I think Laura might like. It has interesting construction and shouldn't be too flashy or whatever for my sister. Here are some photos, but I don't want to give too much away because I want it to still be sort of a surprise at least.

Her birthday is on the 20th, and I just could not bear to knit like 3 square yards of stockinette stitch. It would kill me and put me off knitting forever. I can't do the insanely mindless knitting. One of the scarves I knit her for Christmas just about made me batty.

So sorry, Laura. It won't be the one you wanted exactly. But at least this way you are more likely to get the thing at all.

I'm glad I've discovered your site. I was wondering if the Lace Knitting Ring might possibly lack humor. But you've saved it.

My own humor is danish, therefore no one gets it.

I'm still working at the colors on my site. New to blogging. Getting closer.
